How the Presidential Speech Teleprompter Works

To use the Presidential Speech Teleprompter you simply set up the telescopic stand to your specific height requirements and mount the semi-transparent mirror on the stand at a 45 degree angle. Make sure the mirror side is closer to the speaker and the non-reflective side is closer to the camera.

Install and configure the free software on your PC, load your speech text, and set the PC laptop or an LCD monitor underneath the mirror. Place the camera on a tripod behind the teleprompter stand and you are ready to go.

When the laptop or LCD monitor is placed underneath it is reflected off the teleprompter mirror where you can view the text for your speech. When you view the text you can be as far as 20 feet away with normal eyesight and still read the text to deliver your speech. This allows you to professionally address your audience without having to glance down at written notes.

Tips for Using the Presidential Speech Monitor

1. You can easily clean the mirror on the teleprompter with 50 percent Windex and a soft cloth. A lens cleaner which is available through photography and computer retailers is also ideal for cleaning the teleprompter mirror.

2. You can shoot the camera through the glass without any distraction by using a black shroud. The shroud is clipped to the back of the glass and can be draped around the camera to prevent light interference from the camera lens.

3. The monitor you use should be 20” or larger to prevent the text from being small when the monitor reflects directly into the glass. Also, the farther away the monitor is from the glass the harder it will be to see the text.

4. You can easily control the script through the use of a wireless keyboard that can control the scrolling functions in the software through different key commands.

5. There is no need to carry extension cords with you because the equipment does not require an electrical outlet. Instead the image from the monitor below the glass bounces off the glass so you can see the text to deliver your speech.
